Urology

Medicabil Hospital Urology Department provides examination, examination and treatment services to adult and pediatric patients with the most up-to-date methods. Urology Clinic is an important department that deals with kidney, ureter (urinary canals between kidney and urinary bladder), bladder (urinary bladder), urethra (the channel through which urine is carried out of the body), prostate - penis (male) diseases of all ages, both in women and men. is a medical clinic. In addition, the diagnosis and surgical treatments of male reproductive and sexual diseases are also carried out by the Urology Department. These diseases, which are diagnosed by our specialist physicians in the Urology Department, are successfully treated with the most appropriate surgical methods. Urology Department has sub-branches of andrology, functional urology, endourology, urooncology and pediatric urology. In our hospital, diagnosis and treatment methods of all urological sub-branches are applied within the framework of the most up-to-date approaches. As in many branches, almost all surgical interventions in the field of urology are now performed with closed surgery (laparoscopy, endoscopy). Urology; It has become the most widely used branch of closed surgeries. In our hospitals, we have highly experienced specialist physicians in all sub-branches of urology. Some of the urological procedures performed in our hospitals are listed below;

KIDNEY AND URINE CANAL STONES (URS, RIRS, PNL)

All of the endoscopic methods used in the treatment of kidney and urinary tract stones are applied in our hospitals. Ureterorenoscopy (URS): It is a preferred method for stones located in the channel (ureter) between the kidney and urinary bladder. With semi-rigid camera devices with a thickness of approximately 3mm and a length of 60cm, the patient's urethra is entered through the canal (urethra), into the bladder and then into the channel where the stone is located. The stone is crushed into small pieces with stone crushers (laser or pneumatic) advanced through the URS device. The patient is expected to drop these crumbling stones spontaneously. Sometimes, at the end of the surgery, a catheter (wire, stent) is inserted into the channel where the stone is broken. This catheter is removed after about 1 month. Flexible ureterorenoscopy (f-URS) (RIRS): In this method, flexible URS devices are used. It is often used in the treatment of kidney stones and stones that have just fallen from the kidney to the canal. Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PNL): It is the most commonly used method in closed surgery of kidney stones. It is made by creating a tunnel approximately 1cm (10mm) wide from the patient's back into the kidney. The stones in the kidney are seen with the camera instruments sent through this tunnel, and the stones are removed in the same way as a whole or by breaking. Unlike the URS method, stones are taken out during surgery in this method. Recently, closed kidney stone surgery (PNL) has become possible through even smaller tunnels thanks to technological developments.

PEDIATRIC KIDNEY STONE SURGERY (ULTRAMINI PNL)

While a standard PNL operation in adults is performed through a 1 cm wide tunnel, it has become possible to perform a 0.4 cm wide tunnel in the Ultra-mini PNL surgery performed in children. As the diameter of the tunnel decreases, the possibility of some undesirable conditions such as bleeding due to surgery decreases. In addition, the postoperative recovery process takes a very short time. We prefer the method called ultra-mini PNL especially for children younger than 14 years old.

KIDNEY CANCER

The treatment of kidney tumors varies according to the stage of the tumor and the age of the patient, the general health status of the patient and the anatomical structure of the patient. The standard treatment of kidney tumors is the removal of the kidney together with the surrounding adipose tissue with "Radical Nephrectomy" surgery. Especially in masses smaller than 4 cm, if the location of the mass is appropriate, it is possible to save the rest of the kidney by removing only the tumor area from the kidney with the "Partial Nephrectomy" operation. Both surgical methods can be performed by open method or laparoscopic (closed) method. Since laparoscopic surgery provides faster recovery compared to open surgery, the first preferred method in the world is the laparoscopic method. Laparoscopic Radical Nephrectomy and Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy operations are performed in our hospitals.

Urinary Bladder (Bladder) Cancer:

The most common complaint is painless bleeding with clots in the urine. Complaints in the form of difficulty and burning during urination may also occur less frequently. Especially smokers and people working in the paint industry are at high risk and are more common in men than in women. The bladder should be evaluated endoscopically with a camera. In the meantime, the pathological evaluation of the tissues is provided by TUR-MT (transurethral resection of the bladder) operation by taking samples from suspicious areas or tumoral formations. The actual follow-up and treatment depends on the result of this pathology. Depend on pathology result
