The operation of the Quality Management System at Medicabil Hospital is carried out under the coordination and guidance of the Quality Management Department. The Quality Management Department is defined in the Organization Chart and consists of the Lean Healthcare and Quality Coordinator, Quality Manager, Quality Officer, and Quality Personnel. The Quality Management Department carries out its duties defined below in coordination with the Department Quality Officers assigned within the service areas.
The Scope of Duties of the Quality Management Department:
Ensuring the coordination of activities carried out within the framework of SKS (Healthcare Quality Standards)
Following up on activities aimed at corporate goals and objectives
Managing self-evaluations
Managing corrective actions and processes related to the Adverse Event Reporting System
Managing processes related to risk management
Managing efforts to measure patient experience and employee feedback surveys
Ensuring the management of Quality Management System documentation on the basis of SKS
Managing processes related to quality indicators
Participating as a member of teams and committees determined by legislation, national/international standards, and corporate policy, and monitoring the execution of committee functions.
On the basis of patient and employee safety, within the framework of national (Healthcare Quality Standards - SKS) and international standards (Joint Commission International (JCI) Standards):
Ensuring the planning, execution, and coordination of quality improvement efforts with a Lean approach.
Within the scope of nationally and internationally accepted healthcare service standards, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the entire Medicabil team, data accuracy is checked, examined, and analyzed by our Quality and Accreditation team through approximately 50 different quality indicators. We structure our process of reaching the results of quality indicators within the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle, which we take as the foundation of our system's operation. Planning, implementing, checking (evaluating), analyzing, taking precautions, monitoring changes, and improving form the fundamental building blocks of our quality cycle.
Our Quality Data Verification Method: The accuracy of data and results is checked in monthly periods through system data verification and user data verification processes, taking JCI Standards into consideration.
Additionally, data is verified at least once a year, as well as when:
A new measure is implemented (especially clinical measures designed for an institution to evaluate and improve an important clinical process or outcome),
The data in question is to be announced to the public on the institution's website or through other channels,
A change is made to an existing measure, for example, if data collection tools or the data separation process or method has changed,
The data source changes, for example, when part of the patient records are transferred to an electronic environment and thus the data source becomes both electronic and paper records, or
The subject of data collection has changed, for example, if there is a change in the average patient age, comorbidities, research protocol, if new practice guidelines have been implemented, or if new technologies or treatment methods have begun to be used.
In case of the slightest deviation that casts doubt on the accuracy of the data, the relevant quality indicator for that period is either recalculated, depending on feasibility, or the data is deemed invalid.
Each of our quality indicators is evaluated within the scope of internationally accepted target values. Even if our compliance with the target value is continuous, we always aim for improvement. Because we know that in today's world where systems continuously change and evolve, quality means continuous improvement. "It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change."
